Meet your friendly guide near the steps to the lower cable station at Table Mountain. After a brief introduction and the signing of your waiver form, it’s time for the adventure to begin. Ascend the mountain via Platteklip Gorge, via a scenic and well-maintained path that is perfect for beginners. Reach the summit and enjoy a well-deserved rest as you soak up the sprawling views of the city and beyond. Stroll around, take photos, and feel immersed in the beauty of nature. Once you’re finished at the top, purchase your tickets for the cable car and enjoy the relaxing ride back down to the starting point.

Important Information

  • All hikers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians
  • You must have a reasonable physical strength to participate, as even the moderate or difficult routes include moving on ladders, along chains fixed to the rock, and sometimes up the very steep or vertical rock using ladders, chains, and steel steps fixed to the rock
  • Please bear in mind that inability to reach the summit due to fitness issues will not entitle customers to any refunds
  • Please bring a South African identity document or passport, a daypack, a light windproof jacket, 2 litres of water (no glass containers), snacks, cell phone, camera, sunscreen, and lip balm
  • Suitable clothing to wear would be loose-fitting trousers, (preferably no jeans, skirts or dresses), a hat or a cap, hiking boots or running shoes (no flip-flops, Crocs, sandals, or high-heels), sunglasses, and a long-sleeved shirt for sun protection
