Rickety Bridge Manor House on the Rickety Bridge Wine Estate offers tranquil, soul refreshing accommodation in the Franschhoek wine valley. There are only 3 en-suite rooms in the Rickety Bridge Manor House. Each one is spacious, private and filled with value. As a wedding function venue, Rickety Bridge is developing a solid reputation – and the beautiful private suites are perfect for the first night of marriage –right after the wedding at Rickety Bridge.
The estate once was part of the La Provence wine estate. Just over 200 years ago, the widow Paulina De Villiers was granted the right to the land which she called Paulina’s Drift. The name Rickety Bridge Farm was the local name that came about years later because of the old wooden bridge that was used as the main access to the farm across the Franschhoek river. The bridge has been replaced with a concrete bridge a few years back.
The estate is magnificent. It sits between the banks of the Franschhoek river and against the mountain slope. The Manor House was built in the 19th Century and has been lovingly converted into a luxurious 4star accommodations. The quietness of the estate at night is magnificent.
