The Victorian 1906 is situated in the middle of the historic and charming town of Montagu. Almost two years ago she opened her doors to the public - and in true Victorian style too. The décor is incredibly stylish, yet Victorian and fresh. There are 29 chandeliers in the Victorian. Anywhere else, this would feel out of place and perhaps “over the top”. But not here. In this Victorian hotel in the main road of a quiet historical town, the chandeliers look quite correct. “Camp, but straight.”
Everything in the hotel is either new or antique. The early part of the Victorian era was alive with colour and opulence. The hotel captures some vivaciousness and then also adds the modern conveniences that yuppies like me need.
Victorian 1906 Hotel is unique and fantastically different in that uniqueness. It offers 5 star luxury with modern convenience of a hotel, warm hospitality and it is located in a historical peaceful town. I fell in love with the bed - and the shower. And I really loved the balcony too. In fact I want to go back. I want to spend another few days there…
