Villa Zest
Capetown
Kevin Gerlach decided to open a Boutique Hotel that would meet the accommodation needs of a seriously well heeled traveller in Cape Town. He himself had experienced so many ordinary, half clean rooms, scratchy linen and boring decor. He took those experiences, 700 hours on E-bay searching for funky 70's electronic goods and then he opened Villa Zest. The modern, clean Bauhaus architecture, the retro décor and the 5 star service all combine together to create a blissful accommodation experience.
Desirè Avis and her team of wonderful ladies offer 24 hour service, breakfast when you waked up – and loads of info if you need it. The rule is – “we do not throw people out of bed at 10:30, just to make up their rooms.” Perfect for a late morning arrival on a late all night flight and you are a light sleeper. Even the super quiet heating and cooling system will not disturb you as you slumber all day.
Bring along your iPod – there is a docking station in each room and the Flat Plasma Screen TV’s have satellite channels to enjoy too. The Pool is heated – so even moon tanning is also possible. Villa Zest offers a rooftop lounge and an intriguing 1970’s electronics object art gallery featuring items such as the TNT 8-Track Plunger and the Toot-A-Loop wrist radio currently on display at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
