Description

Visit 3 of the best Cape Wine regions Paarl, Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Winelands Tour You will be treated to a chocolate and wine tasting and cellar tour at the majestic Rhebokskloof wine farm. Drive through Paarl and then enjoy a photo stop at the Drakenstein Prison (where Nelson Mandela was released on 11 February 1990) on the way to Franschhoek. Guests will have about 1,5 hours to explore the town, enjoy lunch or indulge in an extra wine tasting. Then we will take a scenic drive over the impressive Helshoogte Pass to the picturesque town of Stellenbosch. Enjoy a walk around Stellenbosch before heading off to Simonsig. You may enjoy an afternoon wine tasting with cheese platter at Simonsig in the Stellenbosch region before heading back to Cape Town.Your guide will highlight points of interest along the way (in English), and will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the route or wine farms. Paarl Wine region Paarl wines are now world renowned, primarily for the quality of their Shiraz while Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage, Viognier and Cabernet Sauvignon are also increasingly well regarded, and the region is home to some of the Western Cape’s most influential wineries. Less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the region has earned international acclaim not only for its Paarl wines but also the breathtaking beauty of its natural surroundings. The name Paarl means ‘pearl’ and reflects the way the ancient granite mountains, which early Dutch settlers called ‘don Diamont end Peerlbergh’ (‘the diamond and pearl mountain’), glisten in the distance. We visit the RheboksKloof Wine Estate to enjoy a morning wine tasting (5 wines) complete with chocolate pairing. Choose your favourite wine and then enjoy a glass of it as you sit under the trees and take in all the ambiance Franschhoek Wine region The Franschhoek valley is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful places to visit in South Africa. With towering mountains and vineyards, Franschhoek offers stunning views from its famous wine farms. Franschhoek, meaning “French corner”, truly lives up to its name, with French-inspired cafes, delis and wine shops, and architecture dating back to the time of the Huguenots. Guests will have about 1,5 hours to explore the picturesque town, so be sure to stop for lunch at a cafe, do some shopping or even indulge in another wine tasting. Stellenbosch Wine region After a scenic drive over Helshoogte mountain pass we reach Stellenbosch. The town, also known as the “City of Oaks”, has giant oak trees shading the streets, which are lined with picturesque cafes, boutiques and art galleries. The Cape Dutch architecture dates back to South Africa’s Dutch colonial history. Our guide will take you on a walking tour of the historic town before we make out way to Simonsig Estate where we enjoy an afternoon wine tasting with cheese! Return to Cape Town by 17h30
