Description

Discover the highlights of the Cape Peninsula on a multi-stop guided trip from Cape Town. Enjoy a scenic route along sandy beaches and the Twelve Apostles on the way to spots like Hout Bay, Cape Point, Noordhoek, and Cape Point Lighthouse. Enjoy optional activities like a cruise. Start your tour of Cape Town's City Bowl and continue past the V&A Waterfront to the main suburbs of the Atlantic Seaboard. See Green Point, Sea Point, Clifton, and Camps Bay. Travel past the Blue Flag beaches along a route with the Atlantic Ocean on your right and the towering Twelve Apostles mountains on your left. Make your way to the fishing village of Hout Bay, over Chapman’s Peak Drive, and into the quaint coastal town of Noordhoek. The peninsula drive takes you to the magnificent Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point. In Hout Bay, choose to join a boat cruise to Seal Island (cost not included) or stroll around the popular mariner wharf and harbor, where you’ll make friends with the friendly seals that pop up for a pat. At the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, visit the Cape Point Lighthouse. Join a short but slightly steep walk on a well-worn path to the lighthouse, or take the funicular railway to the top. At the top, enjoy sweeping views and get the chance to see whales and dolphins. End the morning in Simons Town, a naval town overlooking False Bay. You have the option of visiting the famous penguin colony at Boulders Beach (entry fee not included) or spending time strolling down the historic main street of Simons Town and popping into its quaint shops and museums. Stop at Simons Town Mariner Wharf for free time to grab food and drinks (costs not included), then head back towards Cape Town and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens along the False Bay coastal route. Pass through the seaside towns of Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay, St James and Muizenberg. The streets are lined with quirky bookstores, vintage clothing shops, surf shops and a collection of popular seaside restaurants and delis. Stop along the way to wander the streets, shop, or watch the surfers in Muizenberg. Go whale watching (if in season) and take photographs of the famous colorful Victoria-era beach huts before ending the trip with hotel drop-off.
