Description

Explore Langa through the lens of innovation, resilience, and community-led solutions. This guided walking experience takes you into Cape Town’s oldest township to meet the entrepreneurs, organizations, and local change makers who are actively addressing social challenges, from youth development and unemployment, to food insecurity, education, arts upliftment, and community well-being. Walk through different neighborhoods as you discover how creativity and collaboration are transforming lives. You’ll meet social innovators running impactful grassroots projects, visit small businesses born from necessity, and learn how township leaders use ingenuity and limited resources to create sustainable change. A highlight of the experience is your visit to the Happy Feet Youth Project, where dance becomes a tool for education, discipline, cultural pride, and entrepreneurship. Here, you don’t just watch, you co-create. Guests are invited to collaborate with the famous Happy Feet dancers to design a brand-new dance sequence, blending traditional Gumboots rhythm with your own creativity. This becomes a joyful, unforgettable cultural exchange and a celebration of connection across communities. This tour is ideal for travelers, families with young people, students, funders, and purpose-driven professionals seeking authentic insight into community upliftment, social impact models, and township-based innovation ecosystems.
