Cape Point and Cape Peninsula Full-Day Tour from Cape Town

This full-day tour departs from Cape Town and suits travellers interested in scenic coastal drives, wildlife, and historical landmarks.

Description

Cape Point lies 60 kilometers from Cape Town within Table Mountain National Park. It marks the southwestern tip of Africa, historically known as the meeting place of the Atlantic and Indian oceans. Discovered by Bartholomeu Dias in 1488, it has served as an important navigational site.

The 9-hour tour starts with a drive along the Atlantic coast, passing Clifton Beach, Camps Bay, and Chapman's Peak Drive to reach the fishing village of Hout Bay. Here, you can visit an arts and crafts market or take an optional boat trip to Seal Island.

The journey continues through Noordhoek, Kommetjie, and Scarborough before entering Table Mountain National Park. Wildlife such as Chacma baboons, ostriches, and antelope may be spotted en route to Cape Point. Visitors can walk or take a 3-minute funicular ride to the historic lighthouse for ocean views. Next is a short drive to the Cape of Good Hope, the official southwestern-most point of Africa, where the iconic sign is located.

Returning to Cape Town, the tour stops at Boulder's Beach penguin colony in Simon’s Town, followed by views of Fish Hoek and Muizenberg. There is also an optional stop at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens before hotel drop-off.
