Join this immersive cooking experience where you will prepare a traditional African meal from start to finish. Your host will explain the history, ingredients, and cultural significance of African cuisine and how recipes have been passed down through generations.

You will be welcomed with a selection of African drinks and starter snacks. During the session, you will learn to cook Sadza (ground mealie meal), meaty beef bones with green vegetables, chicken stew, chakalaka, and sugar beans. Vegan and vegetarian options are available.

Each participant contributes to the cooking process. Afterward, the group will enjoy the meal together, replicating the communal dining style common in African homes. The experience concludes with an African hot beverage such as tea or coffee.

This cooking class takes place in a private room adjacent to Pahari African Restaurant, offering a relaxed environment to experience South African hospitality. You will be encouraged to get hands-on and receive an easy-to-follow recipe to recreate the dishes at home.
