Description
Start your day leaving Cape Town, driving along Bantry Bay beneath Lion's Head. Pass Clifton, known for its four beaches divided by granite boulders, then stop at Maiden's Cove for views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range and Camp's Bay Beach.
Arrive at Hout Bay where you can take an optional 45-minute ferry to Seal Island, home to over 5,000 Cape fur seals. If you choose not to take the ferry, you may explore the local craft market or view the seals from shore.
Drive the 10-kilometer Chapman's Peak Drive, a mountain road noted for its ocean and cliff views. Stop at a lookout point for photos.
Next, stop in Noordhoek Farm Village for views over the area and an opportunity to enjoy coffee at Village Roast. Then visit a local ostrich farm to see the largest bird on Earth.
At Cape Point Nature Reserve, find the Cape of Good Hope sign and explore the biodiversity hotspot. Walk or take an optional funicular to South Africa’s oldest lighthouse with panoramic views. Cape Point is popular with birdwatchers.
