Description
Join Marine Dynamics, leaders in responsible shark tourism and marine conservation, for a shark cage diving adventure featuring bronze whaler sharks and other species like broadnose sevengill sharks and African stingrays.
If you choose the transfer option, travel from Cape Town to Gansbaai, where you’ll be welcomed at The Great White House with breakfast or lunch, depending on the time. An onboard marine biologist will lead a safety and educational briefing and stay with you throughout the trip.
After equipping yourself, walk to the harbour and board Slashfin, a custom-designed shark cage diving vessel with modern amenities, snacks, and drinks. Cruise to Joubertsdam, a natural shark aggregation site. Receive sanitized wetsuits and dive gear on board. Groups enter the secure cage to observe sharks safely while supervised by experts.
Non-divers can watch from the top deck and may see whales, dolphins, penguins, seals, and seabirds in addition to sharks. Depending on conditions, the boat may pass through Shark Alley before returning to shore.
After the dive, enjoy homemade soup and freshly baked bread, then visit the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary to see rescued birds being rehabilitated. This enhances understanding of local marine conservation efforts.
The trip combines adrenaline, education, and conservation and is Fair Trade Tourism certified.
