Description
The India Venster hike involves a moderate scramble (grade B) suitable for those comfortable with heights. Starting at the lower cable station, the route follows a path beneath the cable car cables to the contour path. After a short walk along the contour, the trail ascends a series of low rock steps to a viewing platform.
The hike continues up a gully leading to Venster buttress, offering a photo opportunity of the Venster window overlooking India ravine. Shortly after, hikers encounter easy scramble sections where expert guides provide coaching if needed. The route finishes by traversing Fountain Ledge, reaching the back of Table Mountain and ultimately the summit.
