Description
The tour begins with a drive through Cape Town city centre past notable landmarks such as the Castle of Good Hope, built in 1666 by the Dutch East India Company, City Hall, and the Grand Parade.
Following Adderley Street, the route passes St. George’s Cathedral and the Company Gardens before reaching the Malay Quarter, also known as Bo-Kaap, known for its historic colourful houses. This neighbourhood was settled by descendants of slaves brought from Java, Ceylon, and other Far Eastern regions in the early 18th century.
Next, visit the Diamond Works Jewelry Manufacturing Center to observe expert craftsmanship in diamond cutting and jewellery making, while learning about South Africa’s history in the diamond and gold trade.
There is an option to continue to Table Mountain. Weather permitting, take the revolving cable car to the summit to see indigenous wildflowers, the silver tree species, and panoramic views of the city and beaches. On clear days, you can see Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, and Cape Point in the distance.
