Start your Cape Town experience with convenient pickup from your hotel within a 10 km radius of Cape Town city centre, or meet your guide at the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island at the V&A Waterfront.
From the Nelson Mandela Gateway, board the ferry to Robben Island and journey across Table Bay to one of South Africa's most important historical landmarks. Robben Island is internationally known as the place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years during the apartheid era.
Your Robben Island ferry and entry tickets are included, so there is no additional Robben Island ticket for you to purchase.
Once you arrive on the island, join the guided Robben Island tour. Explore the island and learn about its history, including the prison where political prisoners were held. You will also have the opportunity to see Nelson Mandela's former prison cell.
Please note that this is a shared, non-private experience. You will travel with other visitors on the ferry and join the guided bus and island tour. The Robben Island prison tour is conducted by a Robben Island tour guide. Your Cape Town tour guide/driver does not accompany you during the Robben Island tour and will meet you again at the Nelson Mandela Gateway after your return.
After returning to the V&A Waterfront, continue to the Cape Town Diamond Museum, where you can discover the fascinating history of diamonds in South Africa and learn about the country's famous diamond rush.
At the end of the experience, your driver will drop you back at your hotel or designated drop-off location in Cape Town.
