Description

This 90-minute surf lesson provides exclusive coaching for solo participants or private groups of up to six people. Solo travellers seeking one-on-one coaching should specify this when booking. Groups of friends or family can book their own private session.

The lesson starts with an overview of the surfboard and how to handle it both in and out of the ocean. You will then focus on mastering a pop-up technique proven to help hundreds of students catch their first waves.

  • Steering left and right on the wave
  • Handling surf equipment through the waves

If you have prior experience, your current ability will be assessed at the start to tailor coaching and progression tips accordingly.

Guests or spectators may watch from the beach but cannot participate without a booking.

Important Information

  • Lessons run year-round but will be cancelled only if ocean conditions are too rough or if there is lightning
  • All participants must complete the Surf Life Surf School Indemnity Form; parents must sign for children under 18
  • Valuables can be left in the Surf Life vehicle at your own risk

Arrival and Transport

Please arrive 15 minutes before your lesson and meet the Surf Life SA Team on the grass area in the big parking lot at Hang Ten Drive, Eden on the Bay.

Transport is not included. Use Uber or your own vehicle. Allow 35 to 45 minutes travel time depending on traffic. Weekend parking can be limited and may require 5 to 15 minutes to find a bay.
