Important Information / Know Before You Go
Please note: The Chapman’s Peak hiking trail is located within a protected, pristine nature reserve. There are absolutely no restroom or sanitary facilities available at the trailhead, along the route, or at the summit.
To ensure a comfortable and eco-friendly experience, please review the following requirements before your trek:
- Restroom Stop Before Arrival: We highly recommend using the restroom prior to your pickup or arrival. The nearest public facilities are located at the Hout Bay Harbor or Noordhoek Farm Village.
- Pack-In, Pack-Out Policy: We strictly adhere to 'Leave No Trace' principles. If you require the use of sanitary products, wet wipes, or tissues during the hike, these must be packed into a sealed bag and carried off the trail with you.
- Eco-Hygiene Kit: We recommend packing a small personal supply of tissues, a zip-lock waste bag, and alcohol-based hand sanitiser, as there is no running water on the mountain.
- Environmental Protection: Chapman’s Peak is home to rare, sensitive fynbos vegetation. Leaving any litter or sanitary waste behind is strictly prohibited to protect local wildlife and keep the trail beautiful for everyone.
