Description
There's something special waiting for you in Langa. More than just a craft, beading here is a living language one that carries history, identity, and the heartbeat of a community that has called this place home for generations.
You'll travel directly to Langa, where a local master beader (Samkelo) will welcome you into his world of beads. As your hands get busy threading beads, your host will share the stories behind the colours, the symbols, and the patterns how beadwork has long been used to mark life's biggest moments, express belonging, and pass down stories that words alone can't capture.
This is a warm person-to-person exchange of culture where you'll leave with something beautiful you made yourself, but with a richer understanding of South African township culture and the people who keep it alive.
