'Taste the Original' is an immersive walking and tasting tour that delves into the heart of a working wine farm, exploring the heritage behind South Africa's proud Pinotage varietal. It's a rustic and authentic journey, offering an unparalleled glimpse into the history and innovation of Dekkersvlei – home to the world’s first white Pinotage.
Here's a glimpse of what awaits: a cellar & distillery exploration to get an intimate look at the production process. Then an easy vineyard walk, strolling through picturesque vineyards, including the celebrated Pinotage blocks. Finally – end with a winery & 'Taste the Original' experience: a 3-wine Dekkersvlei tasting, featuring a selection from the winemaker and, of course, the exclusive small-batch world’s first white Pinotage – uniquely served both at room temperature and chilled for a taste explosion.
