Description
Depart Cape Town and travel to Oudtshoorn in the semi-desert Little Karoo, stopping at Ronnie’s Sex Shop for refreshments. Explore the Cango Caves and visit an ostrich farm before overnighting in Oudtshoorn with a local dinner served.
Cross the mountain range to the coast and enjoy panoramic views from the Map of Africa lookout. Visit the town of Knysna and continue through Plettenberg Bay to spend the night at Storms River village.
Explore Tsitsikamma National Park with a coastal walk to the hanging bridge over Storms River Mouth. Then visit Addo Elephant Park to see elephant herds and other wildlife, or alternatively head to Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa’s surfing capital, for the night.
Return to the Garden Route and attempt the world’s highest bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge. Spend the night at Garden Route Game Lodge and take a late afternoon safari drive to see rhinos, lions, buffalo, cheetahs, and antelopes.
On day five, take an early morning safari drive when animals are most active. After checking out at 10:30 am, head to Hermanus to observe Southern Right whales that have returned after decades. Return to Cape Town in the late afternoon, traveling along the False Bay coastline.
