Leave Cape Town city center and travel along the Overberg south coastal route, passing Gordon’s Bay, Pringle Bay, and Betty’s Bay. The drive features dramatic cliff faces near Sir Lowry’s Pass and views of expansive beaches approaching Betty’s Bay.
Stop at Stony Point to observe the African penguin breeding grounds or visit Harold Porter National Botanical Garden. Continue through Hermanus to Gansbaai, where the cliffs of De Kelders and surrounding beaches offer excellent land-based whale watching.
In Gansbaai, embark on a 2-hour whale-watching boat trip aboard a purpose-built vessel with limited passenger capacity, enhancing the wildlife viewing experience.
