Description

Aquila Game Reserve offers the chance to see the Big 5 animals: lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards and rhinos, along with a variety of other wildlife. The reserve is a private game area less than three hours’ drive from Cape Town. Transfers are provided from your accommodation to the reserve.

Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink and buffet lunch before joining a shared or private game drive in an open safari vehicle. Experienced guides provide insights and information about the animals and the reserve’s ecosystem.

The reserve’s diverse habitat supports many species including giraffes, zebras, springbok, ostriches, baboons, caracals, jackals and others, making it ideal for both game viewing and birdwatching. The game drive typically includes about 14 people per vehicle.

After the safari, return transfers take you back to your accommodation via the Huguenot Tunnel, with drop-off around 18h30.

While efforts are made to spot all Big 5 animals, sightings cannot be guaranteed as these are wild animals. Unlike larger national parks, herd sizes are smaller, but guides explore extensively to maximize wildlife sightings.
