Theatre on the Bay
Capetown
Theatre on the Bay offers local and international drama, musicals, comedy, cabaret, music and dance. It is an intimate theatre which offers Act I Theatre Café and is open for dinner before and after a show.
Founded by South African legend Pieter Toerien the Theatre on the Bay serves up a fantastic mix of both local and international acts, which have covered all genres, and have included drama, musicals, comedy, cabaret, music and dance.
It's an intimate theatre that connects the audience directly to the performers, and makes for a truly engaging live performance experience. Over the years they have played host to some of the best shows in town, and have become a firm favourite for both local residents and visitors passing through.
The venue is also home to the Act I Theatre Café, which is a superb restaurant that's open for dinner before and after shows. It serves up a small by varied menu which is updated seasonally. You can also grab a quick a pre-show drink at the coffee lounge or theatre bar, and Dietrich's Bar, located in the main foyer, is also open after each performance, to discuss the performance with a great nightcap.
