A Scenic Start
Your journey begins beneath the lower slopes of Table Mountain before we trace the curve of False Bay — one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the country. We meander through the character‑rich seaside villages of St James, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, and Glencairn, each with its own charm, history, and laid‑back coastal atmosphere.
Boulders Penguin Colony | Simon’s Town
In the historic naval town of Simon’s Town, we visit one of the world’s few land‑based colonies of endangered African Penguins. At Boulders Beach, you’ll stand just meters away from these charismatic birds as they waddle, preen, and play in their natural environment. Jim will share fascinating insights into their behaviour, breeding cycles, and seasonal patterns — perfect for photography and unforgettable memories.
Cape Point & the Cape of Good Hope
Next, we explore the dramatic Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. This wild landscape of wind‑carved cliffs, rolling fynbos, and panoramic ocean views feels like the edge of the world. At Cape Point, the granite headlands plunge spectacularly into the sea, while nearby the Cape of Good Hope marks the most south‑westerly tip of the African continent — a legendary landmark for early explorers.

After exploring the reserve, we pause for a relaxed lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the ocean or harbour.

Chapman’s Peak Drive
From Cape Point, we continue along the world‑famous Chapman’s Peak Drive — a cliff‑hugging masterpiece with breathtaking views over Hout Bay and the Atlantic coastline. We stop at scenic viewpoints for photos and time to take in the vast, rugged beauty.
If the pass is closed due to weather, we take the equally beautiful Ou Kaapse Weg through Silvermine.
Hout Bay & the Atlantic Seaboard
Our final stretch winds through the harbour town of Hout Bay, climbs over Suikerbossie, and flows past the dramatic coves of Llandudno before arriving in glamorous Camps Bay. Here palm‑lined beaches, turquoise water, and stylish cafés create the perfect ending to a spectacular day on the Peninsula.
