Hazendal
Capetown
Set in the picturesque wine-producing valley of the Bottelary road, lies Hazendal, one of the oldest and most beautiful wine farms in the Stellenbosch area. In 1994 Russian born entrepreneur Dr Mark Voloshin, showed his confidence in the “new” South Africa with the purchase of Hazendal Wine Estate and investing in the re-establishment of this historic property to its former glory.
The old wine cellar, a national monument, has been stylishly and elegantly refurbished into a wine tasting center and restaurant. At the Marvol Museum you will be able to view a display of Russian art, icons and Fabergé eggs. A selection of Fabergé jewelery, are on permanent display in the loft above the wine tasting area. A lovely fireplace in the lounge area creates a warm welcome. The intimate restaurant, with its two adjoining courtyards, offers a menu, which includes superb Cape cuisine, accompanied with the awarded range of Hazendal wines.
Visitors who want to experience the attractions of an authentic Boland wine farm, plus a liberal sprinkling of more exotic allures need to look no further!
