Grande Roche Hotel
Capetown
The internationally celebrated hotel, Grande Roche is situated in Paarl in the Cape Winelands. Grande Roche is the home of the multi award winning Bosman’s Restaurant and is celebrated for unparalleled service and hospitality.
The large granite rock behind Grande Roche shines from morning dew or rain and is the “pearl” from which the name Paarl derives. The “pearl” of the Cape is located about 50kms from Cape Town’s city centre on the historical De Nieuwe Plantatie which was originally granted to Hermanus Bosman in 1707. The farm buildings were carefully restored and the property converted into a hotel in 1991. In 1993, Grande Roche was declared a National Monument. Of particular interest is a small slave’s chapel which is also a National Monument in it’s own right. Today it serves as a wedding chapel for intimate weddings.
The Grande Roche is an ideal choice for travellers and tourists who wish to be situated in the winelands or wish to unwind in the heart of the Paarl Valley. From this base the gastronomic and wine experiences of the winelands are within easy reach. The Grande Roche is an ideal location to relax, unwind and free one’s soul.
