Directions to Asoka Son of Dharma
Asoka, Son of Dharma is a trendy bar that also offers some tapas and coktails. It attracts savvy young students and trendy emerging professionals with its sophisticated ambience and clever Feng Shui.
This sophisticated bar has slowly but surely become a Cape Town institution for the more discerning Cape Town revellers, having established itself as a premium bar in the heart of Kloof Street. The bar serves up a range of tappas style dishes to compliment their vast and creative cocktail menu, while their wine, champagne and liquor menus are comprehensive and complimentary to their average clientele and the carefully thought out setting.
There's live entertainment on a regular basis at the bar, with some of Cape Town's top jazz musicians having graced the small, cosy corner to sooth crowds seated around the in-house living tree, around which the bar has been built.
It's not for everyone's taste - many are put off by the perceived sense of pretentiousness, however if you're looking for a classy, relaxing drink before heading out to a more hedonistic establishment further down Kloof Street or along Long Street, then give Asoka a visit.
