Harbour House
Capetown
Harbour House is one of the Cape's most celebrated restaurants, and being ideally situated in the quaint, picturesque village of Kalk Bay's working harbour, it makes for the perfect destination for both locals and tourists alike. The positioning of Harbour House is truly spectacular, set against the crashing ocean and jagged rocks, and only a visit to the restaurant will do it true justice. Further out, the views overlook False Bay, and, on a clear day, the mountains beyond on one side. Literally on their doorstep outside is the colourful harbour on the other, and from late July, guests are also often treated to both Humpback and Southern Right whales that enter the bay to calf. With floor to ceiling picture windows allowing diners full visibility of the outside world, while staying warm and comfortable indoors, they all make for a truly superb day out
Harbour House has managed to remain stylish, yet avoid being overly formal, and it's found the perfect balance between fine dining and a comfortable, relaxing environment. With decor that is elegant and simple, everything is set up for a top dining experience.
All meals are created using the freshest ingredients, and are typically international with Mediterranean flavours, all defined by classic French cooking methods. Obviously the location close to the harbour means fish is a firm fixture on the menu, and you won't find anything fresher in the Cape.
They are open for lunch Monday to Sunday 12am to 4pm, and dinner Monday to Sunday 6pm to 10pm.
