The Codfather Seafood and Sushi
Capetown
Tucked away in Camps Bay is a loosely kept local secret that a few international tourists have also found - and they all keep coming back! It's understandable after just one visit. There is a beaufitful range of fresh fish available and great sushi in a warm open environment too.
The seafood is displayed as you would expect to find it in a fresh fish market. About 90% of the fish sold here is bought off the boats of the local fisherman operating from the 7 harbours in the Western Cape. If you are lucky you will be able to sample Blue Marlin from Mossel Bay or some tuna caught off the Cape of Storms coast near Hout Bay.
The West Coast Rock Lobster and West Coast sole are firm favourites at The Codfather. Great calamari from Patagonia and Indian Ocean Prawns and Langoustines - all served grilled to perfection with a gentle fish spice. The experienced waiters can suggest a wine cultivar and varietal for each of the types of fish that are available. No ordinary suggestions of white wine with fish here!
The Codfather Seafood and Sushi Restaurant has an awesome sushi conveyer belt - one of the oldest in Cape Town - which boasts a festive and yet stylishly simple variety of creative and conventional sushi items. Expertly done Tempura Prawn, Salmon Roses, Tuna Sashimi, a fashion sandwhich, and even a vegetable maki for a sushi first timer. So much more too.
Camps Bay is well known for great food and lazy summer living. Add some great seafood from The Codfather - and you will want to live there too.
