Spoor Catcher Tours

Capetown

Sightseeing and Tours

Before you start your journey 'catch' the spoor by lifting it up out of the sand and gently blow on it. Then follow the spoor on a thread to the stars. This will ensure the success of your journey.

Catch the spoor of southern Africa's World Heritage Sites. At the Big Five South African World Heritage Sites you can catch the spoor of the big five. Buffalo, lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, giraffe, eland, kudu. They are all alive and come to us from the past through our ancestors' rock art and cultures. See the rhino and elephant of Mapungubwe. The buffalo and lion of the Cape and Richtersveld, the kudu and eland of the Drakensberg. Catch the spoor of Mrs Ples and the Taung child as they hunted these animals at Sterkfontein, Taung and Makapansgat. Catch the spoor of the mighty Zulu as they hunted the lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo at St Lucia and Umfolozi. Catch the spoor of the strandloper and penguin through Cape Fynbos and Robben Island. Catch the spoor of the mighty meteor crash at Vredefort. Imprinted on this all is the spoor of South Africa's cultural diversity and modernity.

WINTER TREK SPOOR CATCHER WALKING SPECIAL 2010 is the centenary of South Africa. On 31 May 1910 four separate British colonies formed the Union of South Africa, leading to a long sometimes difficult road to the most modern democracy in the world. Join us as we show you how to catch the spoor of people coming together from more than 2000 years ago to the present and the future.

2010 DISTRICT 6 SPOOR - Catch the spoor District 6 left on the modern City of Cape Town and South Africa. See how these two interacted. Our spoor catcher experience places the memory of District 6 within the larger context of Cape Town and South Africa. District 6 was never and still is not an island. It was and still is very much part of Cape Town. See what has remained and what the future holds. Soccer was an intimate part of District 6. Catch the soccer spoor at the District 6 Museum and Home Coming Centre after we show you the sometimes invisible spoor of District . We start catching the spoor at the Castle, walk through District 6 and end at the District 6 Museum.
