Translated literally, “Dieu Donné” means “God Given” or “A gift from God”. The beautiful mountain scenery certainly endorses this translation. Dieu Donné is situated high on the steep south-west facing slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains. The cool climate combined with rocky soils of weathered granite, created the unique terroir. In our cellar Stephan du Toit, a Cape Wine Master, takes advantage of the distinct Dieu Donné terroir, making wines unique to this corner of the valley.
Our tasting room is next to the restaurant where you can enjoy a glass of wine on the upper terrace while soaking in the spectacular scenery. Dieu Donné’s wine range consists of Merlot (the flagship), Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, Noble Late Harvest and Methodé Cap Classique.
The Dieu Donné Restaurant is a perfect lunch venue to be enjoyed by all on the ground terrace level or in this provincial “CELLAR” styled restaurant. Dinner is transformed into a casual ambiance with high quality meals from an extensive menu served extra-ordinare at competitive prices.
