Rafiki's
Capetown
Rafiki's Bar and Restaurant is extremely popular for it's great city views. The food is good and the bar is always crowded with locals and internationals. It's close to trendy Gardens and Cape Town's two largest backpackers and 4 guest houses.
Over the years, this bohemian style bar and restaurant has become a first favourite for locals and tourists alike. Tourists love it for its exotic styles, superb views and somewhat unique crowd. Locals love it for its unpretentious, no-frills approach, the relaxed and friendly staff, and the well-priced drinks.
Food is simple and not exactly fine-dining, but then again, people come here for the vibe and the buzz rather than to critique the food. Pizzas are hit and miss, but usually pretty good fillers, and other food is generally along the lines of pub fare - chilli poppers, chicken baskets, nachos and snacks rule the menu, which is largely geared towards curing the hangovers, or preparing the stomach for a night on the town.
Rafikis really is a great, unpretentious spot to visit when in Cape Town - either for a quick ice cold beer before heading for a big night on the town, to catch the latest sports game on the big screens with friends, or just to kick back and relax in one of the city's best bars, perched high above famous Kloof Neck road.
