African Water Wanderers offer river rafting on the two rivers: the Breede River and the Orange River. We spent a day with the team on the Breede River which is located an hour outside of Cape Town. The Breede River offers a relatively relaxed ride geared for the whole family, you set off in a two-man canoe and enjoy the trip down stream which takes about 2 1/2 hours in total to complete with a pit stop half way down river for drinks and snacks. The surrounding mountains, fauna and birdlife make for some great scenery, whilst trying to avoid the bank and some of the hanging branches. It's a great day out which even kids as young as 4 years old can enjoy.
On the Orange River, one of the most beautiful rivers in the world, African Water Wanderers take you on a four day adventure trip, offering grade 2 rapids, spectacular scenery, and lots of birds and animal life to view.
The experienced guides ensure both your safety on the river and your comfort throughout your trip. You can also tell that they very much enjoy their job as they always have some jokes at hand to entertain the group! This is ideal for families, and corporate days out for some team building exercises and some laughs, especially if one of your group ends up in the drink.
