At Kayak Clifton we provide guided sea kayak tours at affordable prices in a spectacular natural setting. Clifton has been voted as one of the top ten beaches in the world (Wiki). We depart from Clifton 4th beach and paddle across the bay to admire Clifton, Lions Head, Table Mountain & the 12 Apostles. We also visit a small seal colony and explore the kelp forests & rock pools on Maiden’s Cove side. If conditions are good, we offer guests diving masks to have a peek below the water. We offer a choice of single and double kayaks with all the necessary safety gear and have special fitting life jackets for small kids 3 - 20 kg. Guests should aim to meet us on Clifton 4th beach five minutes before the booked time slot. They sign an indemnity form, is given a PFD (Portable Floating Device) and offered a waterproof cell phone case to take their phone along. When everybody arrived, we do a short introductory talk and safety briefing before launching the kayaks. We paddle from Clifton 4th beach across the bay to Clifton 1st beach, admiring the magnificent natural surroundings. On the way, we will learn a little bit about the history of Clifton and the price tags of the exotic accommodation on the mountain side. After visiting a small seal colony in front of Clifton 4th beach, we explore the kelp forests and rock pools on Maiden's Cove side. If conditions are good, we offer guests diving masks to have a peek below the water. We head back to Clifton 4th beach where guests get to paddle a bit on their own before returning to the beach. The whole experience lasts approx. 90 min. Some guests choose to spend some time at the beach, while others head off to Camp's Bay for something to eat and others zip of to explore other beautiful parts of Cape Town.
