Den Anker provides incredible Belgian food and beer, and over the years has become one of the most sought after locations in the V&A Waterfront. The views of Cape Town’s Table Mountain and the beautiful Alfred Basin are magical both night and day. For 15 years this restaurant has been steadily becoming one of Africa’s well known restaurants.
Den Anker is located on the Pierhead in the V&A Waterfront, and even though you are sitting in a restaurant in a working harbour, this wonderful Belgian food does not seem out of place. Enjoying top international cuisine with a glimpse of the yachts of the rich and famous in the Marina seems totally appropriate. The menu does not change too much, with some having kept a spot on the menu for years, which is testament to the timeless nature of this superb Waterfront spot.
Of course, Den Anker also has a wide variety of imported beers – rumoured to be the widest variety of Belgian beers in Africa, and they also have a wine list that mirrors their food. There are the top wines and a few of the best regular wines, but also a hint of new upcoming wines that have surfaced this season.
Den Anker truly delivers on a great dining evening, and with its delectable selection of authentic food and beers, and the breathtaking views, you simply can't skip this restaurant on your next trip to Cape Town's Waterfront.
