Constantia Uitsig Wine Estate
Capetown
Constantia
Constantia Uitsig Wine Estate was formerly a portion of Groot Constantia that was sold to the Lategan family and developed as Constantia View. In 1988 the farm was purchased by David and Marlene McCay. They restored the farm and set about transforming the wine estate. In 2006 a consortium bought a 50% share in the wine estate.
It boasts the Constantia Uitsig Hotel and Constantia Uitsig Spa, two award winning restaurants on the Estate La Colombe Restaurant and Constantia Uitsig Restaurant, and the very popular River Cafe.
The Wine Estate also has award-winning wines from its beautiful vineyards which stretch up the back of the mountain. The wine making team is headed up wine director Andre Rousseau.
With 40 hectares under cultivation, the farm produces award winning wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, the Constantia Uitsig Red & White blends and the delightful Methode Cap Classique.
