Description
The Cape Peninsula is one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world, home to soaring mountains, rugged coastlines, sweeping ocean views, and several World Heritage Sites. This private day tour takes you through the most iconic and awe-inspiring locations the Peninsula has to offer—at a relaxed, unhurried pace.
Our journey begins as we trace the lower slopes of Table Mountain and skirt the Cape Flats before hugging the scenic False Bay coastline. This picturesque route winds through the laid-back seaside suburbs of St James, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, and Glencairn—each with its own charm, colourful history, and coastal character.
We then enter the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, a dramatic landscape of cliffs, fynbos, and ocean vistas. Along the way, we’ll explore some of the Cape’s most memorable highlights:
Boulders Penguin Colony – Simon’s Town
In the historic naval town of Simon’s Town, we visit one of the world’s few land-based colonies of endangered African Penguins. At Boulders Beach, you’ll get up close to these curious and comical birds—perfect for photos and unforgettable moments. Your guide Jim will share fascinating insights into their behaviour, breeding cycles, and seasonal activity.
Cape Point & the Cape of Good Hope
Stand at what feels like the edge of the world at Cape Point, where dramatic granite cliffs plunge into the sea and the views stretch endlessly. Nearby lies the Cape of Good Hope—the most south-westerly point of the African continent. For early explorers, this was the landmark that signaled the turn homeward.
Lunch Stop
After exploring the reserve, we’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch at a local restaurant. (Lunch is for your own account)
Chapman’s Peak Drive
From Cape Point, we continue along the legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive—an engineering marvel carved into the cliffs above the Atlantic. This world-famous road offers panoramic views over Hout Bay and the surrounding mountains. We’ll stop at key viewpoints to soak in the scenery and capture memorable photos.
Note: If Chapman’s Peak is closed due to weather, we’ll take the equally scenic Ou Kaapse Weg over Silvermine Mountain, passing through the lush southern suburbs.
Hout Bay & the Atlantic Seaboard
Our final stretch takes us through Hout Bay, a charming harbour town nestled between towering peaks. From there, we ascend Suikerbossie Hill, pass the dramatic coastline of Llandudno, and continue through Camps Bay—where palm-lined beaches and trendy cafés offer the perfect end to a spectacular day.
