Auberge Rozendal Restaurant
Capetown
The Auberge Rozendal Restaurant is located in the 150 year old Manor House of Auberge Rozendal, with cuisine that can best be described as Country style and natural with French Provencal roots.
A meal at Rozendal is more than just a quick dining experience, it's about dipping into a range of their superb dishes, all while located in this truly unique and fascinating venue. This shows through in the atmosphere of the restaurant, as the farm house setting creates a mood and feel that runs throughout. There is a shaded terrace on which to relax during the warmer days, while the indoor section, equipped with roaring fireplace, is the perfect escape for those colder winter weather days.
Auberge Rozendal offer a set menu consisting of three courses, and the dishes on offer range from traditional local meals such as a local braai (or barbecue), served with with pap (a local porridge), right through to speciality dishes such as Austrian Salzburger Nockerl. For those with a sweet tooth, dessert is also a sumptuous affair - they dish up all classics like homemade ice cream, and the ever-popular and very South African malva pudding.
Understandable, the wine list is vast and interesting, as they traditionally stock only non-commercial wines which they have personally sourced from local and hard-to-find wineries.
The venue is also equipped with a swimming pool which is available to diners, which means that an extended visit is very much on the cards. An outdoor children's play area is also within sight of the terrace, and as such is a family friendly restaurant in all regards.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
