Directions to Ratanga Junction
Want to take a ride on a roller-coaster while in Cape Town? Head straight to Ratanga Junction, which is located near Canal Walk shopping mall in Century City. There's plenty of fun on offer for the kids, and the diversity of the attractions mean the older folks will have a blast too.
Ratanga Junction is famous for its flagship roller coaster, called “The Cobra”. The Cobra is a suspended looping roller-coaster which speeds along at a height of 32m through 780m of track, at speeds of close to 100km/h, pulling up to 4 g's at places!
The Slingshot is also one of the park's most popular attractions, which is a skycoaster that combines the thrill of skydiving and bungie-jumping into one adrenaline packed package. Three riders are strapped into a full body harness and pulled up to the top of a 10 storey tower. By pulling the rip cords on the flying suits, the riders fall 30m in a free fall at speeds of about 90 km/h towards the ground. Just before they hit the group they swing upwards in an arc and then fall straight down again - a feeling second to none!
There are over 30 things to do at Ratanga, including 23 rides which range from rides for kids - big and small - to rides for the whole family. There are also great rides for the adventurer, and those who are willing to push the limits of their fear.
And if you're in need of something calmer, and not looking to hang on for dear life - Ratanga has something for you too, including boat and train rides, as well as a number of places to sit and eat.
Be sure to check the Ratanga Junction website for opening times and availability.
