Seidelberg Wine Estate is situated just outside Paarl and has some of the most spectacular views of Cape Town from a wine farm. Seidelberg was previously known as De Leuwen Jagt, which means “the lion hunt' in Dutch. Both labels, “De Leeuwen Jagt” and “Seidelberg” produce award winning wines to this day.
The original farm was established in 1692 from a land grant by Simon van der Stel, who was the Governor of the Cape. De Leuwen Jagt, In 1997 Roland Seidel, from Germany, renamed the farm Seidelberg. And has been transforming the farm into a popular wine tourism destination.
One of the wine tour companies that regularly supports Seidelberg is FS-Tours. Seidelberg is an exceptional option to end a day of wine tasting. Enjoy a late afternoon or early evening meal at De Leuwenjagt Restaurantand watch the sunset over Cape Town.
